Lajatico is a town just a few kilometers away from Volterra. The landscape here looks kind of unreal. Even the most skilled painter would have troubles reproducing the bright and intense colours of this area.
Staying in one of the elegant apartments of the Agriturismo Valliferone farmhouse you can enjoy some relax, go on a hike or ride your mountain bike on the green hills of Tuscany. You can also taste the local typical cuisine and reach the village of Lajatico in about 20 minutes. Our farmhouse is located in the most perfect location.
Lajatico is the birthplace of Andrea Bocelli, the world’s most famous opera singer
Andrea Bocelli, the Italian opera singer famous all around the world, was born and raised in this Medieval village in the Pisa area.
Here you can enjoy tasty wines, olive oils full of flavour, saffron, honey and enjoy the local Sagra delle castagne, the chestnut festival. You can also visit some Lombardic remains and small churches, such as the Church of San Leonardo or the l’Astronomical Centre Lajatico.
Teatro del Silenzio
Lajatico owns a magical place called Teatro del Silenzio, the theatre of silence. This is a suggestive natural amphitheatre which remains completely silent for 364 days a year.
For just one day every year, a unique concert brings it back to live. It is an extremely suggestive and beautiful event.
The “Teatro del Silenzio” overall area covers 5.000 square meters. Right in the centre, a special monument is located and changed every year. A peculiar touch that brings magic to this unique place.
